At the young age of 11 years old the world is still a very scary place, but learning to go outside of your comfort zone will be the key to success. Overcoming your fears and living for yourself rather than trying to please everyone else will have a very positive effect in the end. You’ll think that life is great at the time because all of your friends are in your class and you all will be able to convince Mrs. Wadkins to let you sit at the same table. Every day after school a group of you will ride your bikes to tFor many years you’ll play basketball for many different leagues and you’ll enjoy playing it so much that you switch to a travel team at Spiece. As the year’s progress, and teams change you’ll grow to hate basketball because of a†¦show more content†¦Deciding to stick through it because you don’t want to disappoint your parents will drain you emotionally and physically at a very young age. Although you may enjoy watching the game of basketball you’ll dread going to practice and your motivation during every game will deteriorate. When the assistant coach asks you and a few other players from the team to stay after practice, your face will get hot and you’ll start to think about everything that you could have possibly done wrong during practice. You’ll overthink everything and feel anxious and dizzy while waiting for him to come talk to you and a few other players. When he finally finds all of the people that he is looking for he will ask you to play on his new team. You’ll force yourself to fall in love with the game of basketball again because it is a huge compliment for someone to ask you to play on their team. Running up and down the courts will temporarily give you the feeling that you’re used to while playing but the motivation will only be half of what it was before. Although you’re worried about disappointing your parents, making the decision to tell them that you no longer want to play basketball will be one of the best decisions that you’ll make at such a young age.
